Job summary

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Civil and Survey Plan Review Expert to support document-based AI evaluation work. You will review Civil drawings, survey maps, aerials, parcel data, and related site materials, then assess model outputs against project guidelines and rubrics.

The position is entry level for AI training but requires substantial professional or academic knowledge of civil and survey plan review, including the ability to interpret US standards and identify important plan-review issues.

Qualifications

• PE in civil engineering or PLS for survey and mapping work.
• At least three years producing or reviewing site, civil, or survey work.
• Experience applying US standards, state DOT practice, or local land development requirements.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings, survey maps, aerials, topographic maps, and parcel data.
• Ability to identify quantities, contours, exceptions, and plan-review issues.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply rubrics consistently.
• Comfort working independently on remote contractor tasks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate model outputs using project rubrics.
• Review source materials and model outputs against detailed guidelines.
• Document evidence-based judgments and identify relevant exceptions.
• Explain decisions clearly so feedback can improve model behavior.
• Interpret drawing sets, aerials, topographic maps, and parcel data.
• Identify important quantities, contours, exceptions, and plan-review issues.
• Maintain consistency and quality across repeated evaluation tasks.
