Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to provide budget and financial support across biennial and capital budgets and legislative sessions. You will develop and maintain DEED’s accounting structure, enter budget data into SWIFT, and contribute to federal reporting and grants oversight.

The role requires strong technical budgeting knowledge, cost allocations, and the ability to communicate with agency leadership.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in State, Federal, County or City accounting or finance within the last ten (10) years.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or other closely related field may substitute one year of experience; master's substitutes for 18 months; PhD substitutes for 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide budget and financial support during biennial budget, capital budget and legislative session.
• Develop and maintain DEED accounting structure and enter budget information into SWIFT.
• Provide high-level technical expertise and oversight for financial management, including cost allocations and compliance with GAAP for government.
• Assist with annual operational budgets and variance reporting; generate federal reporting.
• Provide financial oversight and information on grants/programs and performance indicators.
