Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Staff Budget Analyst to join the Management and Budget Department. You will support budgeting processes, consolidate the agency's annual Budget, and collaborate with the Technology Department staff to ensure financial integrity.

Reporting to a Supervising Financial Analyst, you will participate in budget performance reviews, analyze resource requests, and help maintain BudgetPro; remote up to one day per week is allowed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years in financial/operational analysis, budgeting or accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with enterprise budgeting systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review annual Budget submissions for alignment with targets and agency priorities.
• Present monthly financial performance results and identify emerging trends.
• Analyze resource requests to ensure the highest and best use of resources.
• Verify consolidation of department budgets in BudgetPro for the Budget Book and board materials.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments to develop recommendations.
• Participate in committees, task forces, and special projects representing financial interests.
