Job summary

Onterris seeks an early-career Brownfield Planning & GIS Specialist (0-4 years) to transform vacant properties through planning, GIS analysis, and community engagement in Northern Appalachia. This remote/hybrid position requires residency in the service area and offers opportunities to collaborate with local governments, developers, and environmental professionals on redevelopment projects, funding and visioning efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Design, or related field.
• 0-4 years of applicable experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and/or StoryMaps.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Assist with community engagement, meetings, and public workshops.
• Develop GIS data, site inventories, and mapping products.
• Support brownfield redevelopment and site prioritization.
• Coordinate stakeholder outreach and transparent communication.
• Stay current on industry trends and safety practices.
