Onterris seeks an early-career Brownfield Planning & GIS Specialist (0-4 years) to transform vacant properties through planning, GIS analysis, and community engagement in Northern Appalachia. This remote/hybrid position requires residency in the service area and offers opportunities to collaborate with local governments, developers, and environmental professionals on redevelopment projects, funding and visioning efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Design, or related field.
0-4 years of applicable experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and/or StoryMaps.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
Responsibilities
Assist with community engagement, meetings, and public workshops.
Develop GIS data, site inventories, and mapping products.
Support brownfield redevelopment and site prioritization.
Coordinate stakeholder outreach and transparent communication.
Stay current on industry trends and safety practices.
