Job summary

The West Virginia Water Research Institute at West Virginia University is seeking a Brownfields Redevelopment Project Manager – Design & Planning to lead site design and planning initiatives across West Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. You will facilitate community meetings, coordinate with local, state and federal partners, manage projects, and help communities leverage environmental and economic development opportunities.

Travel within the Mid-Atlantic region is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Geography or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in project experience, conceptual design development, public speaking, and/or community outreach.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and develop relationships with community and project stakeholders.
  • Lead site design and planning activities for reuse and redevelopment projects.
  • Serve as project contact for communities and manage communications with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community development activities, including public meetings and stakeholder input synthesis.
  • Oversee program development and implementation of technical assistance for regional initiatives.
  • Coordinate proposal and grant applications for Brownfields projects.
  • Manage projects to conform to statements of work, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide information on brownfields site characteristics and assemble data for site inventories.
  • Represent the BAC at meetings, conferences and events as needed.
