Thimble Alterations is seeking a Bridal & Formalwear Seamstress to alter gowns and related garments as an independent contractor. The role offers remote work with projects and local requests sourced via the platform, allowing you to select jobs that fit your schedule.

You will handle fittings, measurements, and finishing touches for bridal and formalwear, delivering high-quality results while maintaining an organized workspace and excellent client communication.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precision measuring skills.
• Proficiency in machine and hand sewing.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Alter bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, prom & evening wear (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
