Job Title: Remote Bookkeeper (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type:Full-time

Salary:$2,500 USD/month via Wise

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Job Overview:

Our client is a commercial real estate investment owner and manager that sponsors unique investment opportunities for institutional and high-net-worth investors seeking asymmetric risk/reward returns in commercial real estate asset classes that require experienced operators. They are guided by an entrepreneurial mindset, deep industry relationships and a relentless focus on risk mitigation, data fundamentals and pattern recognition that enable it to identify the best investment opportunities in its target markets and to create long-term value through execution.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Bookkeeper to support the controller and our Co-founder. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting efficient operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple financial workflows in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts on a regular basis.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
    • Process and track invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors and service providers.
    • Generate and send client invoices; follow up on outstanding receivables.
    • Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Assist in generating profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide financial summaries to support decision-making by leadership.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support
    • Assist in tracking budget performance and flag variances.
    • Provide input on expense trends to help refine forecasts and financial models.
  • Tax & Compliance Assistance
    • Help to Ensure all transactions are properly categorized and documented for tax purposes.
    • Collaborate with external CPAs or tax advisors during audits and tax filing seasons.
    • Track and file sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as needed.
  • Software & Systems Management
    • Maintain records in accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, APp folio, Yardi. .
    • Use spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) to track and organize financial data.
    • Help streamline financial processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination
    • Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding invoicing, payment terms, and W-9 collection.
    • Ensure proper documentation for all vendor relationships and project-based costs.

Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in QuickBooks or financial-related software for accounting and bookkeeping
Work Environment
  • Fully remote with set 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time hours.
  • Communication through Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace
  • Weekly task tracking and deliverable reviews
  • Must be responsive during business hours for time-sensitive asks (especially early-week deal flow)
