The Biosafety Analyst at WCG provides scientific review and analysis to support Institutional Biosafety Committees for human gene transfer studies and related research. This role ensures studies are prepared for IBC review and helps coordinate with institutions and committee members.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in life sciences and at least two years in a clinical, pharmaceutical, or biomedical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field.
• Basic understanding of biomedical terminology, human disease, microbiology and bloodborne pathogens, and clinical safety measures.

Responsabilités

• Analyze the training, facilities, and operations of institutions to prepare for IBC review of human gene transfer studies and laboratory projects.
• Provide education and analysis to institutions regarding compliance with NIH Guidelines for Research with Recombinant and Synthetic Nucleic Acids Molecules and related regulations.
• Assist institutions in identifying areas for improvement in their biosafety programs to comply with regulations and standards.
• Ensure all assigned studies are reviewed by the IBC prior to approval expiration.
• Identify training opportunities for new clients and participate in teleconference orientations and training for new clients on IBCs, NIH Guidelines, and WCG IBCS processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IBC group.
• Host teleconference-based IBC meetings, record minutes, and assist institutions in addressing recommendations and conditions of approval.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
• Other duties as assigned.
