Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree in biomedical technology or biomedical engineering.
• OR Associates or higher degree in electronics, information technology, or engineering (not biomedical) AND 1 year of creditable experience.
• OR DoD biomedical equipment technician training program.
• OR DoD HTM/biomedical certificate program with internship or 1 year of creditable experience.
• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) / Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) / Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) / Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM) are acceptable qualifications.
• English language proficiency as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).

Responsibilities

• Manages the lifecycle of medical equipment and clinical systems.
• Troubleshoots and performs planned maintenance on devices and clinical systems.
• Performs incoming inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Documents all work in CMMS and maintains records.
• Responds to hazard alerts, recalls, and incidents concerning equipment.
• Educates staff on safe operation and upkeep of medical equipment and clinical systems.
