Job summary

The Marion VA Medical Center in Illinois is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist to support the Healthcare Technology Management unit. The BESS-Systems team oversees lifecycle management of hospital networks and medical equipment, ensuring safe operation and timely maintenance.

The position emphasizes knowledge of imaging systems, HL7/DICOM, and compliance with NFPA, FDA, TJC, ACR standards, with required education and/or certifications.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree in biomedical technology or biomedical engineering.
• Associates or higher degree in electronics, IT, or engineering with 1 year of creditable experience.
• Completion of DOD biomedical equipment technician training program.
• DOD training in repair/maintenance of electronic systems or IT with 1 year of creditable experience.
• Completion of HTM/BME certificate program that includes internship.
• HTM/BME certificate program without internship and 1 year of creditable experience.
• Holding or previously holding CBET/CRES/CLES/CHTM certification (certification maintenance not required).
