Job summary

RML-PH is seeking a Billing Denials Management Specialist to join our remote team. You will investigate, resolve, and prevent insurance claim denials, collaborating with the billing, coding, and payer teams to maximize reimbursement.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in medical billing, strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS, HIPAA compliance, and proven denial appeals experience. This role starts as an independent contractor for 6 months with potential for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing with denials/appeals focus.
• Experience in a laboratory or outpatient setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve all assigned insurance claim denials promptly.
• Analyze denial trends to identify root causes and patterns by payer/provider.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for denial resolution.
• Prepare and submit appeals with all necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with coding and clinical staff to obtain corrected information.
• Track denial statuses and report on recovery rates and financial impact.
• Maintain knowledge of payer policies and billing regulations.
