Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Professional Billing Specialist – Follow Up and Denials to join the Revenue Integrity team. This entry- to mid-level role focuses on accurate claim submission, timely follow-up, and denial management within an academic medical environment.

The position requires 1–3 years of medical billing experience and familiarity with CPT/ICD-10CM rules; CPB certification is required within 1 year for Level 2. Remote eligibility is available for residents in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Level 1 requires at least 1 year of medical insurance experience; Level 2 requires at least 3 years of professional billing experience.
• Certification/License: CPB required within 1 year of hire for Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
• Work assigned billing and followup queues in Epic.
• Apply foundational knowledge of CPT, ICD10CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
• Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
