Job summary

Two levels exist—Level 1 with 1 year of medical insurance experience, and Level 2 with 3 years of billing experience and CPB within 1 year of hire. Training begins early, with a strong emphasis on HIPAA knowledge and payer rules.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Level 1 requires 1 year of medical insurance experience.
• Experience: Level 2 requires 3 years of professional billing experience and CPB within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
• Work assigned billing and follow-up queues in Epic.
• Apply CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
• Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
