Job summary

Altarum Institute is seeking a Behavioral Health Training Specialist to independently deliver training and technical assistance focused on SSI/SSDI access for providers serving clients. You will develop curricula, coach agencies, and collect outcomes to improve training quality in a remote-first setup with periodic in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• 24 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery supports, or related social services.
• Experience delivering training, coaching, or technical assistance using adult learning principles.
• Working knowledge of SSI/SSDI and other disability benefit processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear training materials.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple training engagements at once.
• Willingness to travel as needed to deliver in-person trainings.

Responsibilities

• Training Delivery and Facilitation: deliver training for clinical and non-clinical staff on disability benefits access and other behavioral health programs.
• Develop curricula and materials using adult learning principles and contribute updates.
• Provide coaching and technical assistance to agencies to improve applications' success.
• Collect feedback and outcome data to refine trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of SSI/SSDI programs and recovery-oriented practices.
• Apply evidence-informed practices to training design and delivery.
• Track outcomes and flag opportunities for quality improvement.
• Engage stakeholders and build relationships with providers and community organizations.
• Incorporate input from individuals with lived experience to keep trainings person-centered.
• Contribute to training resources and guides and collaborate with fellow trainers.
