Job summary

William James College is seeking an Interface Resource & Referral Counselor to provide resource and referral guidance through the INTERFACE helpline. This full-time, remote role may require occasional on-site visits to Newton, MA, and involves matching callers with licensed providers and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a psychology/mental health background, strong communication skills, and 1–2 years of clinical experience, with a preferred ability to speak

Qualifications

• Degree in psychology, mental health counseling or social work is required or preferred
• License eligible or licensed in MA preferred
• 1–2 years of clinical services experience is highly preferred
• Access to reliable, high-speed internet and a private setting to maintain confidentiality
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; second language preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments during daily line coverage hours
• Provide basic counseling and psycho-education for matched mental health services
• Perform follow-up services and case management for assigned cases
• Identify resources for the INTERFACE website and database in collaboration with IT and staff
• Recruit clinicians for inclusion in the database and coordinate with recruitment team
• Attend trainings and staff meetings for best practices in resource and referral
• Occasionally work evening or weekend hours at community events
