Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid CHIP Services (MCS) department seeks a Behavioral Health Policy Analyst (PSVII) to perform complex behavioral health policy analysis and consultation. The role leads development, planning and implementation of behavioral health benefits for Texas Medicaid, coordinating with stakeholders and across agency teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in policy analysis or evaluation of behavioral health benefits.
• At least one year experience in behavioral health treatment settings or behavioral health policy analysis.

• Ability to foster collaboration across State staff and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies/benefits for MDBP; defines eligibility and authorization.
• Conducts clinical research; reviews literature and applies findings to policy.
• Leads or participates in workgroups and public meetings; prepares updates and reports.
• Participates in quality assurance activities; reviews program documentation and changes.
• Reviews regulations and provides comments; supports agency obligations.
