Job summary

Optum is seeking a Behavioral Intake Counselor for the County of San Diego's 24/7 Access and Crisis Line (ACL), providing confidential behavioral health services and crisis intervention. The role requires a Master's or Doctorate in human services, bilingual English/Spanish, and strong documentation within a DHCS-compliant EHR.

The position features a 4-day work week (Sun-Wed, 8am-6:30pm PST) with an initial training period, and telecommuting options from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or Doctorate within human services such as Psychology, Sociology or equivalent.
• 2+ years of post graduate degree providing direct clinical services across multiple areas.
• 1+ years of crisis experience with de-escalation and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to enter accurate clinical information into Medi-Cal EHR.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements and other ethics.
• Answer calls/chats within standard service levels.
• Conduct behavioral health screenings including suicide/homicide and ASAM.
• Provide referrals, crisis work and safety planning.
• Document interactions in the designated database per DHCS requirements.
• Meet individual performance goals and escalate issues as needed.
