Job summary

Service-Core is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide individual and group counseling to residents with mental health and substance use disorders. The role includes documenting in accordance with agency requirements and participating in regular supervision.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work or another related field required.
• Independent licensure with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as a L.P.C.C. or L.I.S.W. is required.
• Prior experience in mental health and substance abuse services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Submits monthly reports and plans of action on deficits noted.
• Meets weekly with case managers to review resident progress and provide guidance.
• Attends treatment team meetings to discuss resident progress and concerns.
• Meets as needed with case managers to review progress and problems.
• Meets weekly with Clinical Director for required clinical supervision.
• Provides individual and group counseling services when clinically indicated.
• Performs diagnostic assessments of adults as appropriate.
• Provides crisis intervention services as needed.

Education

Master’s degree in counseling, social work or another related field
