Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Behavioral Health Case Manager (CT08IE) to conduct comprehensive functional assessments for Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims. You will evaluate claimant functionality, advise on complex cases, and coordinate with medical and vocational resources to support safe return to work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a behavioral health or mental health discipline.
• License to practice independently is required.
• Licenses LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC or other similar designations are required.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice following a clinical master’s degree.
• Preference for case management, discharge experience and managed care/insurance exposure.
• Preference for crisis intervention skills and strong documentation ability.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive evaluation of a disability claimant functionality.
• Advises on highly complex claims at multidisciplinary clinical review roundtables.
• Determines when claims contain quality of care issues and escalates accordingly.
• Independently conferences with treating providers to evaluate clinical symptomology.
• Collaborates with vocational rehabilitation and other resources to support return to work.
• Manages Short Term Disability to Long Term Disability transition for behavioral health claims.
• Documents findings clearly and concisely to support clinical decisions.
