Job summary

The Hartford in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Behavioral Health Case Manager to evaluate disability claimants and guide return-to-work decisions. You will review STD/LTD claims, consult with multidisciplinary teams, and document clinically grounded conclusions.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in behavioral health and an independently licensed credential (LMHC/LCSW/LMFT or equivalent). Strong MS Office skills and prior case-management or crisis experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice after master’s degree.
• License in Behavioral Health (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or similar) with independent practice.
• Preference for case management, utilization review, and crisis intervention experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive evaluation of a disability claimant functionality.
• Advises on highly complex claims at multidisciplinary clinical review roundtables.
• Manages Short Term Disability (STD) to Long Term Disability (LTD) transitions.
• Collaborates with Ability Benefits Manager and other key players for proactive claim movement.
• Ensures excellent documentation communicating functional status and recommendations.
