Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Battery Design Engineer in Irvine, CA. This 6-month role starts remotely and will transition to the Irvine office as Rivian returns to the office.

You will contribute to battery cell packaging, electronics packaging, and thermal management for automotive applications. The candidate should have a mechanical engineering background with lithium-ion familiarity, experience in injection molded parts, busbars, stamping, and SolidWorks/CATIA V6 expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• Experience with lithium-ion battery design and modules.
• Heritage in injection molded components and busbar/stampings.

Responsibilities

• Packaging design for lithium-ion battery cells.
• Electronics packaging and electrical busbar design.
• Thermal management of electrical components.
• Plastic part and stamped part design.
• Design for automotive manufacturing processes.
• Interface with CAE and Validation teams for design validation.
