Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Backend Engineer to join a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. You will own backend systems supporting regulated financial workflows, focusing on performance, reliability, and careful handling of money movement. This remote role partners with product and compliance teams to translate requirements into secure solutions.

Location: Remote. Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 annually. Travel up to 15% may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to deliver features independently from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Own backend features end to end, including design, build, test, and deployment.
• Integrate with financial partners and APIs while managing edge cases in money movement.
• Contribute to technical design by writing and reviewing design documents.
• Improve performance and reliability by identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to meet business requirements.
