Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Back End Developers for a fully remote hourly-contract role. You will design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs that power AI products, including data pipelines, model-serving infrastructure, and scalable microservices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more back end languages (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, distributed systems
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiar with CI/CD, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong problem-solving, self-motivated, and able to work asynchronously
• Clear communicator across time zones

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI workloads
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code
• Integrate with databases, message queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams of engineers and researchers
• Troubleshoot production issues, review code, and contribute to architecture decisions
• Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments
