Alignerr is seeking a Back End Developer for a remote, hourly contract in the Chicago-area tech ecosystem. You will design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs that power cutting-edge AI products—from data pipelines to scalable microservices handling real-world traffic at scale.

Qualifications

• Back-end languages proficiency across Python/Go/Java/Node.js/Rust or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and cloud platforms.
• Familiar with version control, CI/CD and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable, high-performance server-side architecture to support AI workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following engineering best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams and work independently on tasks.
