Job summary

Aptum AI is seeking a hands-on engineer to build the data-enabled application layer used by private-equity backed operating companies. You will own production code from design to live deployments, directly impacting real business workflows.

You will implement pricing engines, quote tools, and ingestion pipelines while integrating with e-commerce, accounting, and CRM systems. Remote work with overlap with US Central hours is available.

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
• Proficiency in software development with production-grade applications.
• Hands-on back-end web development delivering APIs, services, and third-party integrations.
• Solid understanding of OOP and clean, modular code.
• Experience with databases, data modeling, and data pipelines for analytics or reporting.
• Ability to translate operational needs to technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort in fast-paced, pilot-style environments with rapid iteration and direct customer interaction.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with modern dev tools and practices (version control, testing, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Build pricing engines by normalizing vendor data into automated prices.
• Develop quote and ordering tools for web and manual workflows.
• Create ingestion pipelines from portals, APIs, and files with change tracking.
• Develop internal software for margin reconciliation, order tracking, and document generation.
• Integrate with e-commerce, accounting, and CRM systems.
