Job summary

About The Role

We are seeking experienced Senior and Staff Backend Engineers to join our core engineering team at GrabJobs. This pivotal role focuses on building and scaling our platform’s backend infrastructure, APIs, and developer tools. This is a remote position open to candidates based in North America, LATAM, or Europe. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and customer success, to deliver impactful features and enhancements. Your expertise will directly influence the developer experience and the overall success of our platform, making this an ideal opportunity for those passionate about developer infrastructure and innovative technology solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years (for senior-level) or 10+ years (for staff-level) of extensive backend engineering experience, particularly with high-traffic, scalable systems. You should possess a deep understanding of developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance optimization. Proficiency in modern backend stacks, especially Node.js, is essential. Candidates must have a strong product mindset, with a focus on developer experience and empathy. Excellent communication skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and a reliable, autonomous work ethic are crucial in our remote-first environment. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services that form the backbone of our open-source platform. Build and maintain developer interfaces, including APIs, SDKs, UIs, and runtime environments that ensure a delightful developer experience. Collaborate directly with customers to understand their integration challenges and develop solutions that meet their needs. Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability to support high-traffic operations. Play a strategic role by shaping the product roadmap and company strategy through high ownership of key technical decisions. Engage actively with the open-source community by maintaining and contributing to our repositories. Continuously improve system security, performance, and maintainability while staying aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
