Camunda is hiring a Backend Software Engineer on the Data Layer team to build and evolve the storage and query layer for Camunda 8’s process data. You’ll work across relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch to ensure fast, accurate data at scale and influence how data is stored and accessed.

You’ll partner with product, design, QA, and support to deliver robust data-layer capabilities, improve secondary storage, and participate in on-call rotations in a remote-first environment.

Formación

• At least 4 years of experience as a backend engineer focused on production data stores.
• Hands-on experience with at least one RDBMS or Elasticsearch/OpenSearch with performance tuning.
• Experience contributing to complex engineering initiatives with clear designs.
• Comfortable investigating slow queries and index usage to root-cause production issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a remote-first environment.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for the data layer spanning relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with product management and senior colleagues.
• Evolve data processing, retention, and exposure of process data to customers.
• Improve secondary storage performance and scalability; build tooling for production operability.
• Participate in L3 support and on-call rotations with Support and SRE.
