Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer specializing in microservices for a fully remote role. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs in a distributed team, leveraging cloud-native technologies and modern databases.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of backend experience, strong knowledge of microservices, and proficiency in Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or C#.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of backend development experience.
• Proven design/implementation of microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or C#.
• Strong DB knowledge: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ is desirable.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of API design and security best practices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Remote work ability and collaboration in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend code with a microservices focus.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices for scalability.
• Implement SQL and NoSQL data storage and schemas.
• Work with cloud platforms to deploy/manage services.
• Develop and maintain automated backend testing strategies.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams on API requirements.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade existing systems.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and tech selections.
• Ensure code quality via reviews and unit tests.
• Stay updated on backend tech and cloud best practices.
