Job summary

Nextbyte is expanding its software team and seeking a skilled Full Stack Backend Developer for a remote, full-time role. You will architect, build, test, and scale high-performance APIs, databases, and microservices while collaborating with frontend, product, and design teams.

Ideal candidates have a strong degree in CS or SE, hands-on backend experience with Node.js, Python, or Go, and deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering and server-side development.
• Deep technical mastery of server-side programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Strong practical expertise in designing and optimizing relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Proven practical experience building and documenting secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker), version control systems (Git), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, security awareness, and cross-functional communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Write clean, secure, modular, and maintainable server-side code in Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), or Go.
• Architect, implement, and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas using PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and data encryption standards (OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS).
• Optimize application performance, query efficiency, caching strategies, and server throughput.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, mobile app developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, security audits, and technical sprint planning sessions.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD deployment pipelines, Docker containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, API specifications, and database entity-relationship diagrams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend performance bottlenecks, server errors, and scalability constraints.
