University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and support Azure cloud infrastructure and on-premises VMware environments. The role includes server lifecycle administration, patching, automation with Ansible and PowerShell, and certificate lifecycle processes.

Collaboration with ITS staff and service owners is essential. Eligible for full-time telework.

Formación

• Mid-career with Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience; or Equivalent combination of education/experience

Responsabilidades

• Administer and support Microsoft Azure and on premises VMware infrastructure.
• Provision and manage virtual machines, compute resources, and storage in Azure and VMware within established standards.
• Maintain VMware hosts and clusters, monitor capacity and availability, and coordinate platform maintenance and upgrades.
• Document supported infrastructure and coordinate lifecycle and change work with ITS staff and service owners.
• Troubleshoot Azure and VMware infrastructure and provide tier three support.
• Administer Linux and Windows servers in production, development, and validation.
• Plan and perform operating system patching, upgrades, and reboots, and validate services after maintenance.
• Troubleshoot filesystems, capacity, startup, software updates, authentication, and operating system issues.
• Support application platforms, containers, and dependencies on assigned servers.
• Respond to monitoring alerts, restore service, and document recurring operational issues.
• Follow divisional policies, procedures, and requirements.
