Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Solutions Architect Principal to lead Azure cloud architecture, governance, and security practices for a remote, U.S.-based role. The position demands extensive experience designing and deploying scalable Azure solutions and coordinating pre-bid activities for VA-related initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with BD, capture, and proposal teams, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, and government standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, HA, scalable cloud architecture.
• Experience with Azure data services: SQL DB, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Data Lake.
• Experience implementing Azure security services and best practices.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience governing multi-subscription environments (MGs, Policy, Landing Zones).
• Knowledge of cloud cost management and budgeting.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Azure CLI).
• Monitoring/observability: Azure Monitor, Sentinel; third-party tools.
• Security/compliance: HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS familiarity.
• CI/CD/DevOps with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, AKS.
• Strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Azure solution design for secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Collaborate across BD, capture, proposal teams on proposals.
• Coordinate assignment of technical personnel to proposal efforts.
• Provide SME to meet customer requirements within risk parameters.
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and governance.
• Develop concepts, standards, and governance documentation.
