Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Solutions Architect Principal for a 100% remote role in the US. You will design and govern secure, scalable Azure cloud architectures, lead bid/Proposal activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Required deep Azure expertise, security governance, and experience guiding large-scale transformation programs, with a strong emphasis on pre-bid and proposal support.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong knowledge of core Azure services (VMs, storage, SQL, VNet, AD, ARM, Monitor, DNS).
• Familiarity with Azure security services (DDoS, Firewall, Defender for Cloud, WAF) and governance (Landing Zones, Policy)

Responsibilities

• Leverage domain expertise to understand customer requirements.
• Lead development of a complete solution for a price-competitive proposal.
• Collaborate with BD, capture, and proposal teams to optimize solutions.
• Identify staff needs for Pre-Bid and Proposal activities and coordinate assignments.
• Provide SME guidance to meet customer technical, schedule, and cost requirements within risk parameters.
• Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable Azure cloud architectures with Enterprise Architect.
• Develop new concepts, techniques, and standards; ensure alignment with objectives.
• Mentor engineers and technical teams; foster knowledge sharing and growth.
• Lead cloud transformation initiatives with cross-functional teams across infrastructure, security, development, and business units.
• Maintain documentation and governance for solution designs and deployment processes
• Stay current with emerging Azure technologies, cloud-native architectures, security trends, and industry best practices

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related technical discipline
