Job summary

Switchfast Technologies (Acquired by Ascend Technologies) seeks a senior Azure IoT Solutions Architect to design secure, scalable IoT solutions for manufacturing clients. You will lead end-to-end architecture spanning devices, edge gateways, and Azure cloud services while embedding security-by-design throughout the lifecycle.

The role combines Azure IoT, product cybersecurity, regulatory readiness, and DevSecOps leadership in an Agile delivery model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 8+ years in cloud or software architecture, cybersecurity, or technical leadership.
• 5+ years designing IoT, edge, or industrial solutions, preferably in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated Azure IoT design experience with core services (IoT Hub, Edge, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS, OPC UA) and device identity (PKI/X.509).
• Familiarity with EU Cyber Resilience Act, risk assessments, SBOM, vulnerability disclosure.
• Experience translating architecture and security into actionable backlog items; Agile.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead secure end-to-end IoT architectures across devices, edge, cloud, and data platforms.
• Define reference architectures for onboarding, telemetry, and lifecycle management.
• Architect Azure IoT solutions using core services and integration patterns.
• Guide integration with manufacturing environments, gateways, networks, and protocols.
• Embed security-by-design, Zero Trust, and least-privilege across architectures.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security design reviews.
• Define software bill of materials and secure update processes.
• Engage stakeholders, mentor teams, and lead architecture governance and delivery.
