Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Principal Cloud Security Architect to own security architecture across Azure and related platforms. You will lead secure cloud design, governance, and automation while collaborating with DevOps, engineering, and compliance teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, risk reduction, and cross-functional influence to drive secure cloud initiatives across multiple regions and states.

Qualifications

• 5+ years securing cloud environments.
• 5+ years in security controls and cloud governance.
• 5+ years Linux/Windows administration in cloud.
• 5+ years container technologies and security.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native services and security controls.
• Experience with Azure (preferred) and AWS/GCP.
• Scripting and automation with CLI, PowerShell, Python, Terraform.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relations.
• Ability to bridge technical and business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure Azure cloud architectures with network segmentation and access controls.
• Administer CNAPP including configuration and remediation prioritization.
• Monitor cloud security posture and conduct risk assessments.
• Lead security solution selection across Azure, AWS, and other providers.
• Automate security policies and workflows using scripting and native tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into deployments.
• Communicate risk and prioritization to stakeholders.
