Qualifications

• AWS Developer/Architect certification or higher
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years in technical leadership roles
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring/Spring Boot development
• Experience with Angular/TypeScript and REST APIs
• 4+ years AWS experience designing, deploying and troubleshooting production workloads

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed Agile development team while remaining hands-on with architecture, design, development, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Serve as a key technical point of contact between the development team, program leadership, and customer.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications, architecture and implementation plans.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs and relational databases.
• Provide technical leadership for applications deployed in AWS including architecture, containers, networking, security, observability, scalability, and resiliency.
• Build, deploy, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and ECS.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform/OpenTofu and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design relational data solutions using PostgreSQL/Oracle and persistence frameworks (Hibernate/JPA, MyBatis).
• Apply modern patterns including micro-services, asynchronous processing, caching, automated testing and secure development.
• Support observability and production troubleshooting using OpenTelemetry, AWS X-Ray, Prometheus and CloudWatch.
• Drive engineering best practices and identify opportunities to improve performance, security and maintainability.
• Support workload planning, mentoring, performance feedback and professional development.
