HiringThing is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on our AWS-based staging and production infrastructure, security, and deployment procedures.

You will work with the CTO and VP of Product to shape strategy and priorities while delivering high-quality services for customers and internal stakeholders. You will design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitor system performance, and participate in on-call rotations to keep SaaS platforms reliable and

Qualifications

• 4 years of cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• 2 years of infrastructure automation experience (Terraform).
• Familiarity with Ansible.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience managing hosting for SaaS applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Ability to self-direct DevOps strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS-hosted, cloud-based infrastructure for a reliable and scalable SaaS environment.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and consistent software delivery (CI, staging, and production).
• Monitor and implement metrics for system performance, availability, and security.
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident follow-up activities.
• Plan and exercise our BCDR scenarios.
• Work with the engineering team to proactively identify performance issues.
• Maintain our security policies and SOC II compliance.
• Create and maintain internal documentation of systems, workflows, and operational procedures.
• Manage and participate in our on-call rotation.
• Formulate and present DevOps strategy.
• Identify opportunities to improve observability, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Manage Bounty Hunter program.
