Job summary

Ledgent Technology seeks a hands‑on Lead Software Engineer to modernize AWS‑based platforms and orchestration layers for an annuity policy administration transformation. You will provide technical leadership, design cloud solutions, and guide engineers through to production deployment.

This role emphasizes data‑platform development, integration architecture, and DevOps automation while delivering scalable, secure outcomes across a growing team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software‑engineering experience, including complex enterprise applications or platforms.
• Experience as technical lead, lead developer, or senior engineer guiding others.
• At least 4 years hands‑on AWS development or cloud‑platform engineering.
• Strong programming in Java, Python, or other enterprise languages.
• Experience building APIs, microservices, data‑processing, and event‑driven apps.
• Experience with AWS data/integration services, relational/NoSQL databases, and object storage.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying Infrastructure as Code.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, networking, logging, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Serve as hands‑on technical lead for the Transformation team.
• Break architectural designs and product features into implementable components.
• Establish coding, integration, testing, documentation, and deployment standards.
• Lead technical design sessions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and RCA.
• Mentor developers in AWS engineering, event‑driven architecture, data integration, and DevOps.
• Delegate technical work while ensuring solution quality and integration.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and architectural decisions needing escalation.
• Develop reusable frameworks and patterns for multiple initiatives.
• Promote automated testing, secure coding, observability, and engineering discipline.
