Motion Recruitment is seeking a Lead AWS Cloud Engineer for a fully remote contract-to-hire role supporting an enterprise cloud team. The role focuses on hands-on AWS engineering, automation, infrastructure, and SRE-style work across AWS environments, including CloudFormation, IAM, SSM, cloud networking, scripting, backups, disaster recovery, and observability.

Qualifications

• Senior AWS engineering experience with hands-on delivery.
• Strong AWS design and implementation skills.
• Proficient in Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with IAM, SCPs and permissions.
• Windows and Linux server administration.
• Experience with CloudFormation and SSM automation.
• Observability tooling familiarity (Dynatrace).
• Experience in cost management and DR.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on AWS cloud engineering and automation.
• Maintain and scale enterprise cloud infrastructure.
• Implement IAM, networking, and security best practices.
• Support observability and disaster recovery efforts.
