Qualifications

Senior AWS engineering experience with hands-on delivery.
Strong AWS design and implementation skills.
Proficient in Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
Experience with IAM, SCPs and permissions.
Windows and Linux server administration.
Experience with CloudFormation and SSM automation.
Observability tooling familiarity (Dynatrace).
Experience in cost management and DR.

Responsibilities

Hands-on AWS cloud engineering and automation.
Maintain and scale enterprise cloud infrastructure.
Implement IAM, networking, and security best practices.
Support observability and disaster recovery efforts.

We’re hiring a Lead AWS Cloud Engineer for a fully remote contract-to-hire opportunity supporting an enterprise cloud team. The role is focused on hands-on AWS cloud engineering, automation, infrastructure, and SRE-style work across AWS environments, including CloudFormation, IAM, AWS SSM, cloud networking, scripting, backups, disaster recovery, and observability. Candidates must be able to support EST hours.

You’ll be joining a leading specialty insurance company that provides property, casualty, and specialty insurance solutions to businesses and individuals. This is a great opportunity for a senior cloud engineer who wants to stay hands‑on inAWS while working on enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, and modernization. You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact across a large cloud environment, work alongside an experienced cloud engineering team, and grow into a long‑term role with the potential to convert to full‑time all while working fully remote.
