Peraton is seeking a motivated AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability of critical platforms that support data-driven decisions across the organization. You will provide day-to-day customer application support, maintain infrastructure, monitor systems, resolve incidents, and implement automation to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifikationen

• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Pre-employment credit check may be required by the Customer.
• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience; Master's degree and 6 years; or High School Diploma with 12 years experience.
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of AWS architecture, networking (VPCs, routing), security (IAM & Resource Policies, encryption), serverless/microservice architectures, and containerization (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), specifically Terraform.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale delivery.
• Hands-on experience monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting SaaS application logs.
• Strong scripting skills Python and Bash; Ansible experience is a plus.
• Proficient in configuration management, observability (CloudWatch, Grafana), reliability, and disaster recovery; automation using Terraform, Python, GitLab CI for AWS workloads.
• Strong Git proficiency, including branching/release strategies (GitFlow, etc.).

Aufgaben

• Design and build AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
• Guide ADTs on cloud solution patterns, deployment strategies, and architecture decisions; influence design choices and align stakeholders.
• Own automation end-to-end from IaC authorship to pipeline design to production operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to observability/monitoring practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to AWS users and managed services.
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor AWS environments, identify performance or availability issues, and troubleshoot incidents.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to implement cloud solutions and follow AWS best practices.
• Maintain configuration documentation, diagrams and SOPs for all environments.
• Perform backups, upgrades and maintenance during maintenance windows.
• Monitor for security vulnerabilities and perform ad-hoc upgrades as required.
• Support audit activities by providing logs, reports, and system configurations.
• Manage IAM including roles, policies, permissions, and access controls to maintain secure environments.
