Job summary

Eliassen Group is hiring an Application Cloud Engineer for remote contract work focused on AWS infrastructure, EKS management, and container orchestration. The role collaborates with development, operations, and security to ensure scalable, secure production systems.

The candidate will participate in on-call rotations, implement IaC with Terraform, and optimize CI/CD pipelines across dev, staging, and production environments. U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience with a BS/BA or 6+ years with MS/MA; or 12 years with HS.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure via IaC (Terraform).
• Manage Amazon EKS clusters and node groups.
• Configure VPC networking, security groups, and ALB/NLB ingress.
• Administer Kubernetes objects (deployments, services, configmaps, secrets, RBAC).
• Monitor production with CloudWatch; troubleshoot incidents.
• Containerize apps using ECS and Lambda; deploy across dev/staging/prod.
• Ensure stateless, fault-tolerant apps; implement auto-scaling and rolling updates.
• Improve pipeline security and deployment reliability; run health checks.
