Job summary

Tactibit Technologies is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to design and provision enterprise cloud services in an AWS environment. You will migrate workloads across private, public, and hybrid clouds and collaborate with government staff to support NOAA cloud initiatives handling petabytes of environmental data.

The role requires deep cloud experience, strong DevOps practices, and the ability to work remotely with a cross-functional team of developers, scientists, and engineers.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 6+ years of cloud computing solution development, architecture, or engineering.
• 4+ years of experience migrating on-premise applications to cloud environments.
• US Citizenship and ability to pass a full background investigation for a security badge.
• AWS certifications (preferred: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

Responsibilities

• Architect, plan, and implement new cloud services and infrastructure based on customer specifications.
• Migrate functions and on-prem workloads to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
• Act as a subject matter expert for end-to-end cloud systems engineering including cloud providers, networking, provisioning, and management/governance.
• Design, plan, and implement improvements to the enterprise cloud environment for performance, availability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with management, developers, scientists, and admins to determine growth plans and improvements.
• Monitor usage of cloud services to ensure provisioning and cost management.
• Design and implement security controls for cloud environments.
• Support DevOps activities in a mission-critical environment.
• Assist security testing and compliance efforts.
