Job summary

Mutual of Omaha is seeking an AWS Software Platform Engineer on the Common Technology Platform (CTP) ART within the Department of Cloud (DOC). Remote role with periodic in-person planning meetings.

You will advance our AWS ecosystem by driving the AWS CDK library and Config Rules, enabling automation, IaC, and a world-class developer experience. The role requires 5+ years of TypeScript production experience, 2+ years with AWS CDK v2 in TypeScript, and strong IaC skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of TypeScript production experience.
• Hands-on AWS CDK v2 development in TypeScript.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and cross-stack references.
• Experience with automated testing for CDK using aws-cdk-lib assertions.
• Proven track record in cloud architecture and secure networking.

Responsibilities

• Design and automate infrastructure using AWS CDK, TypeScript, and APIs.
• Collaborate with teams to improve developer experience with self-service tools.
• Apply engineering best practices to automate, self-heal, and modularize components.
• Lead lifecycle automation for distributed cloud platforms.
• Build and optimize secure cloud networks, including load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs.
