The AVP will drive profitable growth through strategic agency relationships, market development, and strong team leadership. The role requires leadership of underwriters, adherence to underwriting standards, and risk assessment while maintaining service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of underwriting experience in the surety industry.
• 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a book of business to meet profitability objectives.
• Build and lead a team of underwriters; ensure adherence to standards and policies.
• Cultivate strategic agency relationships and expand the regional portfolio.
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to address underwriting inquiries.
• Implement best practices and process improvements; drive quality assurance.
