Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Aviation Project Manager to lead complex aviation initiatives from anywhere in the world, with duties spanning aircraft modifications to system integrations. You will manage cross-functional teams, maintain project scope, budget, and timelines, and act as the main liaison for stakeholders in a remote-first setting.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in aviation project management, PMP or equivalent, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of aviation regulations

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and proactive Remote Aviation Project Manager to lead critical projects from anywhere in the world, based out of the Paarl region. This role requires orchestrating complex aviation initiatives, from aircraft modifications to new system integrations, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope. You will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring seamless communication and collaboration in a virtual setting. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in project management within the aviation industry, capable of driving success in a remote-first environment and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets for aviation projects.
• Manage project execution, monitor progress, and identify potential risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate and lead virtual project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication across all disciplines.
• Act as the main liaison between the client, engineering teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects adhere to strict aviation regulations , safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management within the aviation or aerospace industry .
• Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to closure, meeting challenging deadlines.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, adapted for remote team management .
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, aircraft systems, and maintenance processes.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and collaboration tools.
