About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Aviation Safety Officer to join their global operations. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing safety management systems (SMS) to ensure compliance with international aviation safety regulations and to foster a robust safety culture across the organization. You will be instrumental in identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and developing mitigation strategies, all while working remotely. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of aviation safety protocols, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to risk management, contributing significantly to the safety and security of air operations from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) in line with ICAO and relevant national regulations.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA) for all aviation activities and operations.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and safety occurrences, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Monitor safety performance through audits, inspections, and data analysis, reporting findings and trends.
• Promote a positive safety culture through communication, engagement, and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety management, preferably with a background in flight operations, maintenance, or air traffic control.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, SMS principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in conducting safety investigations and risk assessments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities in a remote setting.
