Job summary

Crown Point Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Design Engineer to design and document multi-domain AV systems for DoD and federal clients. This remote role offers occasional travel to client sites and the Crown Point Systems office in San Diego, CA, reporting to the VP of Technical Operations & Engineering.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in AV tech, strong design/documentation skills, and relevant certifications. Travel up to 15% and DoD clearance are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in audiovisual technology with at least 2 years in a design role for Federal space.
• Strong design and documentation skills for complex AV and multi-domain systems.
• Excellent technical writing and ability to communicate with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and develop system designs, BOMs, and SBOWs for accounts.
• Travel to customer sites for requirements gathering and room surveys.
• Serve as SME for customers to support BD, project coordination, and operations.
• Develop labor/expense estimates and contribute to project schedules and milestones.
• Create detailed post-sales docs: wiring diagrams, IP schema, layouts, schedules.
• Identify project risks and resolve field issues to ensure smooth execution.
• Participate in peer reviews and process improvements with the team.
• Maintain vendor relationships to identify offerings and differentiators.
• Communicate scope/equipment changes to sales and project management.
• Support installation/commissioning teams during field work.
