Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Robotics Software Engineer to design, build, and integrate software powering autonomous robots. You will work across the full stack, from sensor integration to high-level planning, collaborating with product, design, and hardware teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in robotics software, strong C++/Python skills, ROS/ROS 2 production experience, and familiarity with Gazebo, Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, CS, EE, or related field.
• Five+ years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS 2 in production projects.
• Experience with perception, localization, motion planning, or control.
• Familiarity with sensor fusion and Kalman/particle filters.
• Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo.
• Strong debugging skills in real-time and concurrent systems.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting field tests and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python, with emphasis on real-time performance.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and proprioceptive sensors.
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping algorithms (SLAM, sensor fusion).
• Develop motion planning, control, and trajectory generation respecting constraints.
• Build behavioral systems using state machines, trees, or planners.
• Integrate ROS/ROS2 with hardware and embedded systems.
• Implement safety-critical patterns, watchdogs, fault detection, safe stops.
• Create and maintain simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and ML engineers; gather requirements.
• Design and execute field tests and post-test analysis.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and runbooks.
