Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Automotive Data Analyst for a fully remote role. You will collect, clean, analyze, and interpret large datasets on vehicle performance, market trends, and customer behavior to guide product, marketing, sales, and after-sales decisions.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data analysis, strong SQL and Python/R skills, and experience with Tableau or Power BI. You will work with cross-functional teams from South Africa to deliver actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Strong experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn), R, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Must have reliable internet access and a suitable home office setup to work effectively remotely, based anywhere in South Africa.
• Knowledge of automotive data sources and metrics is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, cleanse, and preprocess large datasets from various automotive sources (e.g., telematics, sales data, service records, market research).
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to forecast trends and predict outcomes.
• Create clear and compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Translate complex data findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and analytical objectives.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all analytical processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data analysis techniques, tools, and automotive industry trends.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance analysis reports.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of data infrastructure and reporting tools.
