Job summary

Convergix Automation Solutions in Bridgman, Michigan, is seeking an Automation Applications Engineer to review customer requirements, craft solutions, budgets, and project timelines. You will align concepts with operations and create a custom system for Renewables, Industrial, and Life Science sectors.

Reports to the AE Segment Lead. You will engage customers through requirements, develop proposals, and coordinate with sales and management for technical alignment, delivering compelling concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in automation industry.
• Experience in quoting, sales and customer interaction.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and customer prints.
• Understanding of electrical & pneumatic controls.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the customer through requirements definition, generate concepts, cost development and proposal presentation.
• Develop a defined proposal that clarifies all customer requirements.
• Work with sales and management to align technical aspects.
• Present concepts highlighting competitive advantages to customers.
• Assist the internal proposal design team and processes.
• Document technical requirements, risks, and oversee project plans and changes.
